Product Design GCSE

FINAL MARKS:

CONTROLLED ASSESSMENT— 60%
EXAMINATION—40%

Course Demands:

In year 10, students work on a variety of products and skill based
activities to develop designing and making skills. Both traditional
workshop tools and computer aided design and manufacture using the
laser cutter will be used during the course of the year.

In the summer term of year 10, students begin their final GCSE controlled
assessment task where they will have the opportunity to design, develop and create their own project. This project is completed during Year 11.

The controlled assessment includes a large A3 folder and a physical model of the design created in the workshop.
