Physical Education (P.E.)

Core PE and Extra-Curricular Activities

Football, Netball, Basketball, Badminton, Trampoline, Rounders, Circuit Training, Gymnastics, Athletics, Handball, Table Tennis, Parkour, Fitness Testing

GCSE PE

60% Practical – You will be assessed in 4 sports and produce 1 piece of coursework

40% Theory – You will take 1 end of course exam

BTEC Sport

The level 2 Award in Sport consists of 4 Units:

  • Practical (sports)
  • Fitness Testing. (Including a 20% online test)
  • Leading a Sports Activity
  • Training and Personal Fitness

Educational Visits

The GCSE Course often allows pupils to go to the High Adventures Activity centre in Yorkshire to participate in Rock Climbing or Mountain Biking.

Also on the GCSE course there is the opportunity to complete a Personal Survival Course at the local swimming baths.

Year 7’s may have the opportunity to attend the Ackers Outdoor and Adventurous Activity Centre to participate in ski-ing, canoeing, rock climbing or archery.

There is the opportunity to go on a ski-ing trip.
