4 December 2015

Dear Parent / Carer

Christmas Jumper Day and The Santa on the Vale event

I am writing to draw your attention to two fantastic events happening at our academy in the coming weeks.

Firstly on Friday 11 December we will be holding a Christmas Jumper themed Non-uniform Day for the entire academy. We are asking for a £1 donation in exchange for wearing non-uniform and would love to see lots of Christmas Jumpers!  All money we raise will go towards an Older Persons Christmas Party we are holding that day.

Secondly we warmly invite you to our Santa on the Vale event on Wednesday 16 December 2015. Building on the success of previous years we invite the entire community to come along and celebrate Christmas with us with a number of attractions for all the family.

Look out for Santa and his friends on the Greenwood Academy Christmas truck touring Castle Vale between 3:30pm and 4:45pm and then join us at the academy for Santa’s arrival just before 5pm. (Gates open at the academy at 4:30pm)

Once again we will play host to Santa for the evening in his Grotto, which promises to be even more spectacular than last year. Children can spend time with Santa and get a present and photograph all for just £2.50. As we were so busy last year we have introduced timed tickets so you can purchase your ticket in advance from reception or on the day which gives you a 15 minute timeslot, during which you can join the queue. This way you can spend more time enjoying everything else on offer.

We have a number of food stalls and hot and cold drinks with a specialist Cadbury’s Hot Chocolate stall coming along, several stalls selling handmade decorations and various arts and crafts sellers. There will also be all the regulars like the fabulous tombola, children’s fair rides, prize winning games, live performances and much more!

Entry is free and we welcome all the family.

Yours sincerely

Harry French
