December 2015

Dear Parent / Carer

As we approach the end of the autumn term I am writing to advise you of some key items.

Christmas Lunch:  Tuesday 15 December 2015
Cost of student Christmas Meal is £1.75
No money will be accepted at lunch time on the day. Any student that is entitled to free school meals must obtain a ticket for the Christmas meal – They just need to give their name to their form tutor.

No student will be allowed out of school to purchase food, therefore, anyone that wants to purchase any food other than the Christmas meal must get this at break time as there will be no other food available during the lunch period.

Deadline for purchase of Christmas lunch tickets is Monday 14 December 2015.

Academy Meal Prices
Meal prices in the Academy will increase with effect from 1 January 2016.  The price of a two course meal for students will be £2.00.  The academy firmly believes that the catering operation offers good value for money with most secondary schools charging in excess of £2.40 for a similar meal. The Academy aims to offer a healthy nutritious meal at lunchtime and menus are available on our website.

Prices will continue to be reviewed on a termly basis.

Last day of term: Friday 18 December 2015
We break for Christmas on Friday 18 December 2015 at normal school closing time.  We would appreciate your support in ensuring that your child attends until the very end of term.

Training Day: Monday 4 January 2016
As part of our ongoing focus on Teaching and Learning and Academy improvement, Monday 4 January 2015 has been designated as a staff training day at the Academy; therefore students will not be required to attend the Academy on that day

Student first day of term: Tuesday 5 January 2016
Lessons will resume as normal on Tuesday 5 January 2016.

I would like to take this opportunity to wish you and your families a peaceful and Happy Christmas and New Year and we look forward to a successful 2016.

Yours sincerely

Harry French
