December 2016

Dear Parent / Carer

As we approach the end of the autumn term I am writing to advise you of some key items.  We would appreciate your support in ensuring that your child attends until the very end of term.

Christmas Lunch

Wednesday 14 December 2016

We warmly invite you to our Santa on the Vale event on Wednesday 14 December 2016. Building on the success of previous years we invite the entire community to come along and celebrate Christmas with us with a number of attractions for all the family.

Look out for Santa and his friends on the Greenwood Academy Christmas truck touring Castle Vale between 3:30pm and 4:45pm and then join us at the academy for Santa’s arrival just before 5pm. (Gates open at the academy at 4:30pm)

Once again we will play host to Santa for the evening in his Grotto, which promises to be even more spectacular than last year. Children can spend time with Santa and get a present and photograph all for just £2.50. As we were so busy last year we have introduced timed tickets so you can purchase your ticket in advance from reception or on the day which gives you a 15-minute time slot, during which you can join the queue. This way you can spend more time enjoying everything else on offer.

Friday 16 December 2016 – Last day of term / Christmas jumper / Non uniform day

We break for Christmas at 12.10 pm.

We are asking for a £1 donation in exchange for wearing non uniform and would love to see lots of Christmas Jumpers!  All money we raise will go towards the Older Persons Christmas Party.

We would appreciate your support in ensuring that your child attends until the very end of term and enjoy our festive celebrations.

Tuesday 3 January 2017

Student first day of term

Lessons will resume as normal on Tuesday 3 January 2017.

I would like to take this opportunity to wish you and your families a peaceful and Happy Christmas and New Year and we look forward to a successful 2017.

Yours sincerely

Allen Bird
