Dear Parent/Guardian,

Introduction of Relationship and Sexual Health Workshops

Greenwood Academy in partnership with Castle Vale Community Regeneration Services (CVCRS) Health Team will be running targeted relationship and sexual health workshops for students in Years 9, 10 and 11 commencing in September 2014.

The workshops are in addition to sex education aspects of the Science curriculum and will be delivered over a six week period as part of your child’s Information Advice and Guidance curriculum.

Workshop content will be delivered by trained youth workers. The content of the workshops will take account of your child’s age, stage of development and will aim to develop your child’s understanding around:
  • Positive and healthy relationships
  • How to access young people’s services
  • Peer Pressure
  • General sexual health advice
  • Safe sex

In addition to the above the academy will also be running weekly lunch time drop in sessions where young people can access support, advice and guidance on relationships and sexual health.

The drop in sessions will start on Tuesday 24th June 2014 and will be hosted by our Health and Wellbeing Worker, Sean Jordan and colleagues from the CVCRS Health Team in the academies ‘Youth Zone’.

If you have any questions or would like any further information please do not hesitate to contact the academy on 0121 4646101.

Yours Sincerely,

Harry French
Principal
